Over
the past 90 years, Kemble has become the best selling British piano
in the world and the largest piano manufacturer in Western Europe.
Kemble emphasizes unique, streamlined designs which accommodate
both traditional and contemporary décor.
WHY KEMBLE?
Kemble represents "the best of all possible pianos,"
as it has a long-standing relationship with Yamaha
pianos, who chose the Kemble factory in London to manufacture most
of Yamaha's line for the Western European market. Obviously, Kemble
has continued to manufacture its own pianos as well. According
to the Piano Book, the only regularly updated and distributed consumer
guide to pianos in print, Kemble pianos represent a step UP
from Japanese pianos, combining the consistency of new
Japanese instruments with an Old-World European style and sound.
Maintaining
the British tradition, their workmanship in cabinetry is undeniably
meticulous and tasteful among available piano brands. Laser technology
employed in their factory ensures the precision of each line in their
veneers and inlays. Kemble also manufactures specialty pianos with
contemporary cabinets (click

European designers.
A
unique quality of a Kemble piano is their use of Bavarian spruce in
the soundboards of their ENTIRE line of pianos. This material rounds
out the tone to give it a fuller, richer "singing" sound,
characteristic of Old-World European
instruments. The cost for a Bavarian Spruce soundboard far exceeds
that of a sitka spruce soundboard (more commonly used), therefore
the price tag of a Kemble Piano is higher than other pianos without
such a soundboard. One major Japanese manufacturer employs Bavarian
spruce soundboard ONLY for their highest quality
concert grand, yet uses sitka spruce for the rest of their line --
a clear indication of Bavarian spruce's superiority.
Despite
the expense of European design and production, Kemble's state-of-the-art
manufacturing facility allows them to keep their pricing much lower
than that of other high-end, European-made brands. The unification
of strong visual and musical aesthetics coupled with affordable pricing
makes the Kemble a good value for customers seeking a
premium instrument.
