WHY STORY AND CLARK?

Chicagopianos.com prides itself on cutting to the chase: Simply put, you will not find another piano with a fully-functional player system in the low-moderate price range anywhere on the market. THE ANCHO

In 2006, QRS unveiled their cutting-edge Ancho player system, which boasts a full LCD display & built-in sound card to accompany the onboard CD & Compact Flash drives. There is also an option that allows the Ancho to be used in tandem with popular concert DVD's-- meaning your piano will literally play along with concerts by your favorite artists like Norah Jones - Live in Paris or Billy Joel - Live at Yankees Stadium. Listen to the concert through your surround sound system...watch it on your plasma TV...all while hearing YOUR piano reproduce the piano performances by the artist!

QRS has also just released the PNOScan to a very small number of dealers. It's a recording device employing optical sensors to record live piano performances for playback on your piano. Chart a child's progress...review and analyze performances...used it to record one hand while you accompany it with the other hand...upload and share a performances online -- the educational possibilities are endless!

DOES A LOWER PRICE MEAN LESSER QUALITY?

Not necessarily! Story & Clark/QRS offers an incredible level of consistency in their products. It is the only moderately priced manufacturer who regulates, tunes, voices and polishes pianos at its OWN factory, which significantly cuts down on the work we have to do on the pianos in our shop. In addition, Story and Clark ships its instruments to us wrapped in blankets, which is also unique among piano manufacturers -- further evidence that Story & Clark thoroughly inspects every instrument before passing it along to the dealer.

WHAT ABOUT THE QRS PIANOMATION PLAYER SYSTEM?

Our QRS player systems are installed at the factory, assuring consistency and performance unavailable in other systems that rely exclusively on DEALER retrofits. When shopping for a player in a moderate price range, Story & Clark is the only way to get a factory-installed system which offers a great level of consistency as a well as a complete warranty from ONE source. (Retrofitted systems involve the piano manufacturer, the player manufacturer and the dealer for various aspects of your warranty.)

WHO IS STORY AND CLARK?

The brand name "Story and Clark" represents one of the oldest piano manufacturers in the United States...since 1857. Yes it has changed hands through the years like every other well known brand, but it is still a family-owned business today, and is made up of "some of the nicest people I've met in the industry" according to John Cordogan, owner and proprietor of Cordogan's Pianoland and Chicagopianos.com. The owner is from nearby Lake Forest, IL who has a passion for player pianos and the technical expertise to create cutting edge technology. Their major U.S. factory is in Seneca, Pennsylvania, although they do source components and products from all over the world.

*For all you business-minded folk out there -- especially those who have heard rumblings of the inevitable, forthcoming "Chinese shakeout", it's clear that Story & Clark will be one of the few left standing tall!
